Special delivery

Today something beary interesting happened.

There was a knock at the door and then a loud thud.  When I opened the door, I saw a large box.

The box had this funny label on it.  I also noticed there was an airhole on the box. An airhole?  Could something be inside?  I put my ear to the box and listened - I heard something moving around!

Then, in a booming voice, the box said, "LET ME OUT!!"  I jumped back in surprise.  I was both curious and scared.  I cut the box carefully with scissors and opened it.  Inside...was a bear.  A beary beary beary LARGE bear.
"Finally!" the bear said, stretching his long arms.  I had never seen such a big bear in my entire life - only in movies.  He crawled out of the box and looked around.  Then he looked at me.

"Well, you're a small little bear," he said.

"I may be small but I have a big heart!" I said.  He laughed a hearty laugh.  I felt the ground shake.

"Yes, indeed.  I can tell you certainly have a lot of spunk. Thank you for letting me out of that box.  My name is Mr. Tibbs.  You can also call me Uncle Tibbs.  He extended his large paw for a pawshake.

"My name is Ajdin.  It is nice to meet you.  But I must ask, where do you come from and how did you get here?"

"Ah Ajdin, that is a very good question.  I have traveled all over the world.  I have been to many countries.  My most recent trip was to China, then I spent some time in Vermont.  And now... I am here."

"You must be very tired, Mr. Tibbs."

"Yes, I am," he said, yawning.

"In that case, here is a pillow and blanket.  You can take a nap on the couch," I told him.  In no time, Mr. Tibbs fell asleep.

Who exactly is Mr. Tibbs?  What was China like?  Do bears just magically appear at the doorstep in America?  I have so many questions to ask Mr. Tibbs after he wakes up.

Happy Thanksgiving

Today is Thanksgiving, a holiday that I did not know about until I came to the United States.  I am still learning a lot about this holiday and what it means.  So far, I think it is about being with friends and family and of course, eating lots of good food!  I am thankful for my blogger friends - it is nice to know other animals also like to blog.  I feel so lucky.  I hope everyone in the world can feel this way too.  Happy Thanksgiving.  :)

McDonald's

There are many things that are new to me since coming to the United States, but McDonald's is not one of them.  I remember seeing a McDonald's restaurant in Bosnia, where I used to live.  But the one big difference about McDonald's in the United States is just HOW MANY of them there are!

Today was my first time going through the drive-through at McDonald's.  It was really fun talking to the person taking the orders through the computer screen.  My mom says that we should eat healthy foods and lots of fruits and vegetables, but *occasionally* a treat from McDonald's is okay.  I think she is right.  I ordered a Filet-o-Fish sandwich and asked for some honey packets to put on it.  The lady taking my order gave me a puzzled look at first but was very nice about it and even gave me extra honey.  It was beary good!  I think they should put a honey fish sandwich on their menu.  What do you think about that?

Supermarket trip

I got to go to the supermarket for the first time the other day.  It was really fun riding around in the shopping cart and seeing all the delicious kinds of food you can buy.  Some customers were looking at me strangely - I guess they have never seen a bear do grocery shopping before.  My tummy is going to get even rounder!  OM NOM NOM NOM.

Here are some nice apples...
Bananas...
Beer... (I am underage and not allowed to drink alcohol)
Mmm baked goods...
WELL, WHAT DO WE HAVE HERE??  Look at that top shelf.  Yep.. it's... HONEY!!  I hit the jackpot!!

Piano ♪♫

Okay, so I started taking piano lessons.  I'm not exactly sure how I am doing it without opposable thumbs, but when there is a will, there is a way.  :)

I am going to practice everyday in hopes that I will become the next Bearzart or Bearkovsky.

Laundry day

Today is laundry day so I am helping out a bit.  I almost fell in while pouring the detergent!  That would be so scary if I fell in the washing machine.  But I am starting to stink a little so I think I need a bath soon.  Hand wash, please?

Mmm, so soft and clean!  I think I could be the new Snuggle bear, I mean, just look at the resemblance.

Hello! My very first post

Hello there!  My name is Ajdin Adilovic and I am a bear, a Bosnian bear to be more accurate.  My mom adopted me from Sarajevo and took me to the United States where I now live.  This blog is about all of my fun adventures.  Don't you think I'm cute?  :)

First of all, I want to teach you how to pronounce my name.  It is a Bosnian name and if you say it in Bosnian, it sounds like "eye-DIN" because you pronounce "j" like "y" in my native language.  But here in the United States, a lot of people call me "Aidan" since it's easier.  Either way works for me!
