A helping paw

I was having trouble finding someone to help for my Helping Paw badge.  It seemed like everyone was doing just fine.

So I decided to take a nap.  I should be hiBEARnating right now anyways.  *yawn*

"Help!" a voice chirped.

Wait, what was that sound?  Did you hear something?

"Please help!" it said again.

It sounded like it was coming from over here.

It was...

...a bird!

(Hey guys, how come you didn't tell me there was a bird behind me?)

"Hello," I said.  "Do you need help?"

"Yes!" she replied.  "My wing... I think it's broken.  A bird that can't fly... oh, I am done for!"

"Don't worry," I said.  "I am Bear Cub Scout Ajdin and I can help you."  I went to get my first aid kit.

"Now, if you will just hold still, I'll have you fixed up in no time," I said.

I took out some bandages and carefully tied them around her right wing.

"There," I said, helping her sit up.  "You'll need some time to heal but it should be better soon."

"But I cannot fly south!" she said.  "It is winter here and so cold.  I will surely freeze to death."

"You can stay with my friends and I," I offered.  "You can be our guest, Miss...?"

"Feathers.  My name is Feathers.  Thank you so much Ajdin.  You are a very kind bear."

The Helping Paw badge

Today, Bear Cub Scout Leader Uncle Tibbs called an important meeting.  So I put on my cub scout uniform.

"I called this meeting today because I have some exciting news to share with you, Ajdin," he said.

I began to feel beary excited.

"There is a new Bear Cub Scout badge that you can earn.  It is called the Helping Paw badge."  He showed me what the badge looked like.  It was a badge in the shape of a bear!

"Uncle Tibbs, that is a fantastic badge!" I exclaimed.  "How do I earn it?"

"The recipient of a Helping Paw badge must show bravery and courage to help someone else.  It is not an easy badge to earn," he said.

"Uncle Tibbs, do you need help with anything?" I asked.

"Hmm... I can't say that I do, Ajdin."

"Are you SURE?" I asked again.

"I am okay right now, Ajdin, but thanks for asking."

I was eager to get this badge, so I decided to ask Ooogie if he needed help.

"Noooooooooo, thaaaaaaaaaaaanks," he answered.

Then I asked Flops if he needed help.

"I don't need help... *crunch* ....but thanks for asking...*crunch*," he said as he munched on a carrot.

I began to feel a little discouraged.  I really wanted this special badge.  Finally, I asked my mom if she needed help.

It turned out that she did not need help either.

I let out a little sigh.  How was I going to earn the Helping Paw badge if no one needed any help?

Happy Valentine's Day

I received a letter in the mail a couple of days ago.  I always enjoy getting mail.

I took one glance at the envelope and immediately knew who it was from.  Do you see the two bears on the front?  It's a letter from Jerry and Ben!

I opened it up and saw a nice Valentine's Day card.  Thank you Jerry and Ben!  They included some fun Winnie the Pooh stickers.  I will have to think of something creative to use them for, or just stick them all over myself.

Then it was time to make a Valentine's Day card of my own.  I got out some red paper and a heart-shaped hole punch from my arts & crafts bin.

I cut out a heart and decorated it.

Here is a close-up.

Now it was time to give it to someone special.  What good is a Valentine's Day card if you don't give it to someone special?  So I went to find someone special.

I didn't have to look very hard.

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

Lots of bear hugs

Chocolate chip cookies + hot chocolate

This evening, I spotted a plate of chocolate chip cookies on the kitchen table.  Someone had just baked them.

Do you see them sitting there?  They sure looked lonely.  I could not just leave them all by themselves.

I looked to my right.

I looked to my left.

The coast was clear!

I grabbed a cookie and took a big bite!

Mmm... NOM NOM NOM.  These cookies would go perfectly with the hot chocolate that Little Fox sent us the other day.  Here we are about to enjoy the hot chocolate!  Thanks Little Fox!

Eyebrows

Hello there everyone.  I hope everyone is having a good week so far.  The weekend is almost here and that makes us beary happy!

Today I am going to talk about something beary important, yet something that most humans take for granted.

Eyebrows.

(Little Fox's Halloween costume entry from last year is a good example of some nice eyebrows.)

As you can see, I do not have any eyebrows.  However, eyebrows are essential for expressing a wide range of emotions.

To help illustrate the importance of eyebrows, Uncle Tibbs has kindly volunteered to model some
eyebrows for us today.  Here is the neutral eyebrow look.

"Hello Ajdin," Uncle Tibbs said.

Now for the angry look.

"AJDIN!!  DID YOU TAKE MY HONEY??" Uncle Tibbs yelled.

(I have never seen Uncle Tibbs close to being angry before so this was a little bit scary.)

The surprised look.

"Oh, I didn't mean to scare you, Ajdin."

And finally, there is the unibrow look.

"..."

Which eyebrow look is your favorite?  Do you have eyebrows?
