Hello everyone, Uncle Tibbs here.  We are planning a surprise bearthday party for Ajdin - today is his bearthday.

Parker's new collar

Today, I am giving my dog Parker his own collar and leash.  Every dog deserves to have one.

I picked a red collar and leash for him.

"Come here, Parker."

"Woof!"

I put the collar on him.  It has little bells that jingle so you can hear him coming from far away.

Next, I will attach the leash to the collar.

Great!  Now we are all set to take a walk.  I'll just secure the leash to my paw and then we can --

Parker was beary excited and took off running without me.  I face planted onto the ground.

Well folks, it looks like we may have some more dog training to do yet.

"Woof?"

Ohio

Hello everybody, I am in... COLUMBUS, OHIO.  (By the way, I am still waiting for my mom to go on a really cool business trip to someplace like Hawaii.)  My mom was really busy so I stayed in the hotel room most of the time and jumped on a king-sized bed and ordered room service (salmon, of course).

But I did get to go on trip to a local bookstore.  This place is called The Book Loft, and it has 32 rooms full of books!

I walked down a cobblestone alley to get to the bookstore.

This is a beary cute place.

I saw books about bears.

And fun puzzles!

And books about honey!

And Jedi training books!

I also saw Winnie the Pooh...

...and Paddington Bear.

After the bookstore, we went to an indoor market.  I liked this vendor beary much.  THE FISH GUYS.

That salmon looks fresh alright.  Mmm.

There was also a vendor selling honey.

It was a pretty short visit to Ohio, but I saw salmon and honey... what more could a little bear want?

A trip

Oh hello there!  I can't talk for long today because I am in a hurry packing my suitcase.  That's right, I'm going on a trip.  My mom said I could tag along on one of her work trips.  Last time, I went to Iowa.

I think I'll pack my blue shirt.  It's an old shirt, but sometimes you just want to wear something nice and old and comfy, you know?

I think I'll pack my Bear Cub Scout uniform also.  I might be able to do some scouting wherever I end up.

I'm also going to pack my Jedi robe.  You never know when you will need to use the Fish and defend the galaxy from the Dark Side.

Hmm.  It doesn't seem like everything fits into my suitcase.

I will try sitting on my suitcase.  I have seen my mom do that sometimes when she is packing.

There!  It seems to have worked!  My suitcase is all packed and I'm ready to go.  I wonder where we will be going this time.

Marbles

I was playing on my PawPad earlier today when the screen suddenly went blank.  It was low on battery.  Don't you hate when that happens?

So I plugged it in for a recharge.

But now I was bored, with nothing to do.  So I went to Uncle Tibbs.

"Uncle Tibbs, I am bored," I sighed.

"Really!" he replied.

"Yes, really," I said.  "I have absolutely nothing to do.  I am beary bored out of my stuffie mind."

"Ajdin, when I was a little bear, one of my favorite things to do was play a game of marbles.  Have you played that before?"

"I'm not even sure what a marble is, Uncle Tibbs," I said.  "I have never seen a marble before."

"What!" he exclaimed.  "I must be getting old."

He took the lid off the tin box of marbles, revealing beautiful colors and designs inside.

Then, in one WHOOSH, Uncle Tibbs dumped the marbles on the floor.

"Wow!  Look at that one!" I said.  "And that one over there!  And how about that great big marble in the middle!"

"That's my favorite marble.. because it's BIG!" said Uncle Tibbs.

He set up the marbles and we were ready to play.

"Whaaaaaat aaaaare youuuuuu dooooooing?" said Ooogie.

"We're playing marbles, Ooogie.  Do you want to join?"

"Yeaaaaaaaaaaah."

So we had a third player.

"Oh marbles!  How wonderful!  May I join?" asked Miss Feathers.

"Why certainly," I replied.

"Woof woof woof!  Woof?"

"Yes, here is your marble shooter, Parker," I said.

So we played marbles the entire afternoon.  It was lots of fun!

Have you played marbles before?
